About Michael
Michael is a photographer, musician, and a
would-be writer. He is also an engineer for the themed entertainment
industry.
Photography: Michael has always enjoyed taking pictures since
he got his first camera at the age of 10. Unfortunately, the cost of
film and development kept his experimentation to a minimum. A
couple years ago he bought his first digital camera and suddenly the
cost of film and development became irrelevant and he was able to
start growing as a photographer. His favorite subject maters are the
city at night, rural decay, and natural wonders.
Music: Michael has had a
grasp on things musical all his life, starting with the family piano
when he was barely able to walk. He still doesn't play keyboards
particularly well, but he is pretty good with both acoustic and
electric guitars. He started writing music in high school by
re-writing lyrics to existing songs and later started writing his own.
In college he was introduced to the musical and fell in love.
Currently Michael is a part of the worship band and an assistant to
the music director at the Fort Des Moines Open Bible Church in Des
Moines, Iowa
Literature: Michael started writing short stories in middle
school (it was called "jr. high" back then!), usually not finishing
them unless it was part of an English assignment.
Engineer:
Michael's "day job" is at Triad Productions, where he is an engineer
for creating control systems for entertainment locales. Examples of
his work can be seen at Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas, Chuck
E. Cheese restaurants everywhere, and the Blank Park Zoo Discovery
Center in Des Moines. All images, text, and
